MezzoSangue, Roma, 23 gennaio 1991. Compare per la prima volta sulla scena rap italiana il 1° luglio 2012 in un video su YouTube con il quale partecipa al “Capitan Futuro Rap Contest” riscuotendo grandi consensi. Nel video indossava un passamontagna, diventato poi il suo simbolo distintivo. Chi si nasconde dietro all’iconico passamontagna? La risposta è nei suoi versi: “Sotto non c’è volto, non c’è nome, solo un’idea che parla”.
Le produzioni di MezzoSangue si inseriscono nel solco tracciato dal rap hardcore ma lasciano spazio all’innovazione sonora, aggiungendo una particolare cura alla sostanza e nessun timore di affidarsi a riflessioni più esistenziali. I suoi dischi si possono tranquillamente definire tra i più belli della storia dell’hip hop italiano recente, mai scontati dal punto di vista musicale, con rime graffianti, testi concettualmente carichi capaci di analizzare la società in cui viviamo, che non risparmiano niente e nessuno.
Con due mixtape (Musica Cicatrene Mixtape – 2012, Hurricane Mixtape 2013) e tre album in studio (Soul Of a Supertramp – 2015, Tree – Roots & Crown – 2018, Sete 2022) oggi MezzoSangue è uno dei protagonisti più convincenti della scena musicale italiana. Il suo ultimo lavoro, “Sete”, è un concept album che indaga dieci diverse forme di sete, che per MezzoSangue è una richiesta, una necessità, uno stato interiore. L’artista ha inoltre annunciato il tour con cui porterà dal vivo il nuovo album, nel suo modo unico di affrontare il palco attraverso uno spettacolo dal forte impatto emotivo.

MezzoSangue’s productions fit into the groove traced by hardcore rap but leaving room for sound innovation, adding a particular care to the substance and no fear of relying on more existential reflections. His records can easily be defined among the most beautiful ones in the history of the recent Italian hip hop, never taken for granted from a musical point of view, with biting rhymes, conceptually-loaded lyrics capable of analyzing the society in which we live, sparing nothing and no one.
