Francamente è un progetto torinese che si muove tra cantautorato ed elettronica, trapiantato prima a Berlino e poi a Milano. Queerness e attivismo occupano il centro della sua produzione musicale.
Nello sviluppo della sua identità sono decisivi gli studi in filosofia politica, l’attività di busker e la partecipazione a realtà collettive che promuovano una musica orizzontale e plurale, non competitiva.
Nel 2020 escono i suoi primi due brani, Contaminazone e Bombe in colombe, scritti e registrati a Torino. Dal 2021 è parte di “Canta Fino a Dieci”, collettivo transfemminista che ha come obiettivo l’abbattimento del gender gap nell’industria musicale. Nello stesso anno esce Taxi, registrata a Torino ma scritta a Berlino, dove si trasferisce nel 2022. Quelli in Germania sono anni di ricerca – al fianco dell’amico produttore Tomer Levy – e di musica per strada, modo per occupare fisicamente dello spazio (che sempre manca a chi è donna) e importante palestra per trattare l’arte come un mestiere che deve poter essere per tutt3.
La frequentazione di club e rave porta il progetto a contaminarsi con l’elettronica, la techno e la cold wave degli anni ‘80 e contemporanea. Gli edifici decadenti della DDR sono lo sfondo a canzoni che provano a raccontare la quotidianità della provincia e di ciò che è ritenuto “al margine” perché non sotto i riflettori.
Nel 2024 si trasferisce a Milano, dove inizia la sua collaborazione con BASTA MUSICA e Costello’s Records e partecipa a X Factor Italia. Nello stesso anno escono due brani: Paracadute e Fucina.
Da gennaio 2025 è impegnata in studio con Diego Montinaro, in arte Goedi: il loro è un laboratorio aperto dove ogni sperimentazione è concessa, senza distinzioni di genere musicale. Un lavoro quotidiano e di artigianato che si sviluppa in modo organico, seguendo la crescita del progetto e le influenze di ascolti ed esperienze. A giugno 2025 esce il singolo Zagara, mentre dal mese di ottobre apre alcune date del tour di Carmen Consoli. Il 4 novembre esce Telephone Tango, brano che apre la collaborazione dell’artista con la storica etichetta discografica indipendente Carosello Records.
Francamente is a Turin-based project that moves between singer-songwriter music and electronic sounds, later relocating first to Berlin and then to Milan. Queerness and activism lie at the core of the project’s musical production.
The development of its identity has been strongly shaped by studies in political philosophy, busking, and involvement in collective initiatives that promote a horizontal, plural, and non-competitive approach to music.
In 2020, the first two tracks — Contaminazione and Bombe in colombe — were released, written and recorded in Turin. Since 2021, Francamente has been part of Canta Fino a Dieci, a transfeminist collective aimed at reducing the gender gap in the music industry. That same year saw the release of Taxi, recorded in Turin but written in Berlin, where the project relocated in 2022.
The years in Germany were dedicated to research — alongside producer Tomer Levy — and street performance, a way to physically occupy public space (something often denied to women) and an important training ground for treating art as a craft that should be accessible to everyone.
Frequenting clubs and raves led the project to blend with electronic music, techno, and both contemporary and 1980s cold wave influences. The decaying buildings of the former GDR became the backdrop for songs that attempt to portray everyday life in provincial settings and what is considered “marginal” because it remains outside the spotlight.
In 2024, Francamente moved to Milan, beginning collaborations with BASTA MUSICA and Costello’s Records, and taking part in X Factor Italia. That same year saw the release of two new tracks: Paracadute and Fucina.
Since January 2025, the project has been working in the studio with Goedi (Diego Montinaro): together they have created an open laboratory where all experimentation is welcomed, without genre boundaries. A daily, handcrafted process that develops organically, following the project’s growth and the influences of listening and lived experience.
In June 2025, the single Zagara was released, and from October onward Francamente opened several dates of Carmen Consoli’s tour. On November 4, Telephone Tango was released, marking the beginning of the artist’s collaboration with the historic independent label Carosello Records.
